  13. Subject: Using Microsofts WFW 3.11 Winsock stuff with Novell 3.X

  15. I've installed the WFW 3.11 winsock stuff (not the daytona beta stuff) and so 
  16. far it is the only winsock I could get working stably. Its neat simple and 
  17. transparent.There are two problems I'd like to solve with it.
  18. 1) I can't run ODI drivers since it complains they are "exhanced mode only 
  19. drivers" How do I get ODI drivers to operate in real and enhanced mode?
  20. 2) I can't get netware to run with this thing. From dos netware works and I 
  21. can see the Novell drives from under windows, but telnet and netbeui die 
  22. horribly.

  41. I have read this group since the beginning, and I observe the noise level is 
  42. growing each week, the noise being of the type "How do I setup xxxx 
  43. communications package" or "how do I make SLIP/PPP work" or "why do this 
  44. (winsock) application not behave to my needs". Winsock programming is almost 
  45. extinct in this group. As a matter of fact, most stuff is only indirectly 
  46. related to winsock.

  48. I also see a similar trend in several other, related groups like 
  49. comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc etc.

  51. Maybe we need a new news group: alt.netsurf or (why not) alt.winsurf ?
